The blue-footed booby is a marine bird lives in subtropical and tropical regions of the eastern Pacific Ocean. Boobies are one of six species of the genus Sula. Blue-footed boobies act great pride in their fabulous feet. During mating rituals, male birds show off their feet to with a high-stepping strut. The bluer the feet, the more attractive they are.These boobies live on the western coasts of Central and South America. The Galápagos Island’s population includes more than half of all breeding pairs of blue-footed boobies.Like all boobies, the blue-footed booby gets all of its food from ocean or water sources. This species’ preferred prey includes anchovies, sardines, fishes and other small, pelagic fishes and squids.
